Short Story

United States

My name is Soukhena, a 21 year old college student from the US. I’m running this campaign on behalf of my friend Odai. Here are his words:

“My name is Odai Al-Najjar from occupied Gaza, Palestine, and I am still alive. I am 24 years old and have 6 family members, including my two sisters and two brothers, Ahmed and Adam. Two months after we built our house, it was bombed by Israel. My friends, neighbors, and relatives were killed by Israel. Today, we received an “evacuation notice” from Israel stating that they will bomb our neighborhood where I am displaced. Fortunately, I am still alive as I write this. The prices of all goods and commodities have become very expensive. I have run out of money I saved. I have escaped death many times, and there is no safe place in Palestine because of Israel. I hope you can help me survive the genocide. Every day is a desperate battle to find basic necessities such as food, water, and flour due to the ongoing bombing, destruction, and displacement.Unfortunately, we are suffering from famine, displacement, and exorbitant prices.Access to essentials has become impossible.” Thank you.
